JERDS, established in 2002 in Hospet, Karnataka, focuses on Integrated Rural Development by implementing various training programs, managing natural resources, and promoting agricultural development. With the support of the Government of Karnataka and various donors, JERDS actively works with rural poor communities to enhance their overall development. The organization organizes Self Help Groups to empower these communities politically and build their capacities, enabling them to participate actively in their development activities. Through these efforts, JERDS has achieved remarkable progress in its rural development projects.

JERDS is committed to supporting rural people, migrants, vulnerable women, children, marginalized farmer communities, urban slum dwellers, and deprived children through ongoing projects aimed at their holistic development.
Our NGO conducts health awareness programs aimed at recognizing and addressing the impact of anemia on children. Recently, we organized an initiative at a government school in Sanduru taluk, where we educated students about the disease and its health effects. We also surveyed the children to identify those affected by anemia and assess their needs for further support, as part of our broader health initiatives.

Our NGO conducted a groundwater awareness program for Self Help Group (SHG) members, rural residents, and school children in Chitradurga and Hospet. The program aimed to educate participants about the importance of groundwater conservation and sustainable practices. Through interactive sessions and informative discussions, attendees learned about the role of groundwater in their daily lives and its impact on the environment. This initiative fostered community engagement and encouraged proactive water management efforts.

Groundwater Awareness Program
On September 13, 2024, our NGO conducted an awareness program about groundwater for Self Help Group (SHG) members in Challakere Taluk, Chitradurga District. The initiative focused on the Atal Bhujala Yojane, highlighting the importance of groundwater conservation. Participants engaged in discussions about sustainable practices and the impact of groundwater management on their communities. This program aimed to empower SHG members with knowledge and tools for effective water resource management.
Traditional Water Harvesting Survey
Our NGO conducted a survey on traditional water harvesting methods in Koppal and Ballari districts. The survey aimed to document and assess the effectiveness of these practices in managing local water resources. Findings from the survey will help inform future water conservation initiatives in the region.
Soil Erosion Awareness Program
Our NGO organized a soil erosion awareness program to educate the community about its impact on agriculture and the environment. The program included interactive sessions and demonstrations on soil conservation techniques. Participants learned practical ways to prevent soil erosion and promote sustainable land management.
COVID-19 Response: Food Donation Camp
During the COVID-19 pandemic, vulnerable and poor communities were among the hardest hit. In response, our NGO organized a food donation camp near hospitals to provide essential meals to those affected. This initiative aimed to support individuals and families facing food insecurity during the crisis.
Evaluation and Survey in Bagalkot District
Our NGO conducted an evaluation and survey in Bagalkot district to assess the local needs of the community. We engaged with residents to gather insights into their challenges and priorities. This understanding will guide our future interventions and support in the area.
Digital Website Workshop Participation
Our NGO participated in a digital website workshop organized by Dhwani Foundation in Bangalore. The workshop focused on enhancing our online presence and digital skills. It provided valuable insights into effective website development and management for NGOs.It is the small change that makes the biggest impact.
